Strengthening Families Program
For Oakcrest High School students and their families
 
The Strengthening Families Program is a parent, youth, and family skills-building curriculum designed to prevent substance abuse and other behavior problems, strengthen parenting skills, and build family strengths.  The program is delivered with seven sessions for parents, youth, and families using realistic videos, role-playing, discussions, learning games, and family projects.  Program includes dinner, gift cards/prizes for attendance and participation, free childcare (for younger siblings), and fun activities and incentives for children.

The Program will start on Tuesday, March 27, 2012
Families need to commit to meeting 2-2.5hrs once a week for seven weeks
Tuesday Night 5:30pm - 8:00pm
 
Agenda for each meeting:
First 30 minutes - Enjoy a family meal together
Next 60 minutes - parents and youth meet separately with trained facilitator
Last 30-45 minutes - Fun family activity to reinforce or enhance lesson
